Can I bring my own phone? How do I check if it is compatible with Gen Mobile?

Phones from Sprint, Boost, Virgin Mobile or other carriers that use the Sprint Network are compatible with Gen Mobile. Phone from "Other Providers" must be on our compatible phones list. Yes, after you purchase your phone and/or plan, you will receive an email with instructions on how you can provide us your number transfer information. We will need your phone number, account number, account address and PIN code from your current carrier. You may need to contact your current carrier for this information. Once we submit the number transfer request, it may take up to 48 hours for your current carrier to release your phone number.

Can I get a new phone number with Gen Mobile?

Yes, you can request a new number when you call or chat to activate your phone. A new number will auto generate based on your requested zip code and availability in your particular area code. You can also call our Customer Care team to request a new number at any time.

How does the online 7-day money back service guarantee work?

If you are not happy for any reason in the first 7 days your service plan is activated, Gen Mobile will refund your plan and activation fee (minus S&H). No questions asked! If you purchased a one month plan, your plan price stays the same every month. If you purchased a three month plan, you can choose to renew at our one month plan price or at our 3 month plan price at the end of your three month cycle. Your one month or three month plan price stays the same unless you upgrade or downgrade your plan.

Do I need to unlock the phone I'm bringing?

You will need to unlocked your phone prior to activating your Gen Mobile service.

The best way to determine if your phone is unlocked is by calling your current carrier and asking them to verify your phone’s status. You will most likely need to provide your account password and your phone’s IMEI number. You can get the IMEI on most phones by dialing *#06# on your keypad or by checking in your phone settings. Please note: Once you have requested for your carrier to unlock your phone, it may take up to 24 hours for your carrier to release the lock.

Can I make international calls?
