There are two ways to qualify for the Lifeline discount: based on household income or public program assistance. Only one discount per eligible household is permitted and is non-transferable to another person. The discount is tied to a single, primary residential address.

• • Household Income: You may qualify for the Lifeline if your household income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Specific income thresholds may apply, and you may be required to provide proof of income.

• Government Assistance Programs: If you or a member of your household participates in certain government assistance programs such as these below, you can qualify for Lifeline:

  • Medicaid
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps,
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
  • Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit, or
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
