Q1: How do I sign up to activate Gen Mobile?

Q2: What phones are compatible with Gen Mobile?

COMPATIBLE PHONES AND DATA DEVICES
  • Most unlocked 4G LTE and 5G network phones or data devices
  • Unlocked AT&T, T-Mobile, Metro, Cricket Wireless and Straight Talk phones and data devices

Q3: Does the phone need to be unlocked?

Yes. Even if a phone is paid off, it may not have been automatically unlocked by the original carrier. To unlock a phone, the customer can call their original carrier to request that the phone be unlocked. It may take up to 48 hours before the phone is unlocked and ready to be activated on Gen Mobile.

Q4: How do I know which SIM card to use?

You must have a Gen Mobile SIM card to activate on one of our networks.

Our Pink network SIM card is red and bears a small pink Gen Mobile icon on the back. These SIM cards will work on GSM unlocked and T-Mobile compatible phones. 

Our Blue network SIM card is white and bears a small blue Gen Mobile icon on the back. These SIM cards will work on GSM unlocked and AT&T compatible phones.

Q5: How do I configure the APN settings for a phone activated on one of Gen Mobile's networks?

Some activations may require you to manually configure the phone's APN settings. Configuring the APN settings will enable your phone to use apps, the internet, and/or receive multimedia messages.
 
iPhone 

You can view your APN settings in one of the following locations:

Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Cellular Network
Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > Mobile Data Network

 
Samsung 
To set up APN on your Mobile Device, follow these steps:
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Connections. Please note: Skip this step for older models.
  • Tap Mobile Networks.
  • Tap Access Point Names.
 
Make sure to insert the SIM card into the device before making any APN edits or adding APN settings.

Gen Mobile offers coverage on two of America's largest nationwide 5G/4G LTE cellular networks.

Our Blue network runs on America's most reliable 5G network. Our Pink network runs on America's largest 5G network.

Q7: What rate plans does Gen Mobile offer?

Gen Mobile plans start at $10 for 1GB of data and go up to $60 for unlimited data. The $50 unlimited plan includes 10GB of mobile hotspot and the $60 unlimited plan includes 20GB of mobile hotspot. Plus a 15 day text freebie applies to all plans if a customer's plan expires!

Q8: How can customers pay for their service?

Customers can make payments with cash or a credit/debit card at an authorized retailer; or with a credit/debit card and PIN by calling *611 from a Gen Mobile phone. Customers can now also make payments in the new MyGenMobile App.

Q9: Does Gen Mobile have an app?

Yes! Our new self-service app helps customers manage their account with ease. You change your plan, make payments, track your data usage, add more data or international talk credit and much more. Download it for free by searching MyGenMobile in the App Store or Google Play Store.

ACTIVATION QUESTIONS

Q10: How do I activate a phone if the customer is porting in a phone number?

After service stops working on the original carrier, insert the SIM into the phone or data device being activated. You must reset your phone/data device network settings and activate your new Gen Mobile service. To reset your phone network settings go to your settings app > scroll to System or General Management > tap either reset or reset options > tap reset network settings > your device will restart. Once it does, your network settings will have been cleared and reset.

 

For most Android devices:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Android.
  2. Scroll to and tap either "General management" or "System" depending on what device you have.
  3. Tap either "Reset" or "Reset options".
  4. Tap the words "Reset network settings".
  5. You'll have to confirm that you want to reset your network settings.

 

For most Apple devices:

  1.  Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Scroll all the way down and tap Transfer or Reset iPhone.
  4. Tap Reset.
  5. Tap Reset Network Settings.
  6. Enter your iPhone’s passcode.

Your network settings have been reset.

Q11: How will I make my commission?

You will make your commission from each customer's MRC (Monthly Recurring Charge), Airtime Refills, and 24 month residual based on the rate plan selection. You can stack up to 10 additional months and earn your spiffs, refill discounts and residuals all at once. Note: If your customer refills at another location, you still earn your spiffs and residuals!
