Can I bring my hotspot or tablet? How do I check if it is compatible with Gen Mobile?

GSM capable hotspots or tablets, free of contract, and without an unpaid balance are compatible with Gen Mobile's data service. Make sure to purchase a SIM card from Gen Mobile to activate your device. You can also call (833) 528-1380 or click here to chat with a Gen Mobile Customer Care representative 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. PST, 7 days a week, to find out if you can bring your hotspot or table to Gen Mobile.

What if I already have a CDMA hotspot or tablet developed for the Sprint® Network* or for any Sprint® Network* MVNO? Can I bring this hotspot or tablet?

Unfortunately, Gen Mobile's data service is not compatible with CDMA hotspots or tablets developed for the Sprint® Network* or for any Sprint® Network* MVNO.

How does the online 7-day money back service guarantee work?

If you are not happy for any reason in the first 7 days your service plan is activated, Gen Mobile will refund your plan and activation fee (minus S&H). No questions asked! The 7-day money back guarantee only applies to customers who purchased their service plan on genmobile.com. Service plans purchased from authorized distributors do not qualify for the 7-day money back guarantee. Check with the authorized distributor for their service plan refund policy.

Your data plan price stays the same every month unless you decide to upgrade or downgrade your plan.

Do I need to unlock the hotspot I'm bringing?

You will need to unlocked your hotspot or tablet prior to activating your Gen Mobile service.

The best way to determine if your hotspot or tablet is unlocked is to call your current carrier and asking them to verify your hotspot or tablet’s status. You will most likely need to provide your account password and your hotspot or tablet's IMEI number. The hotspot or tablet's IMEI is most commonly listed in your hotspot or tablet's settings. Please note: Once you have submitted the request for your carrier to unlock your hotspot or tablet, it may take up to 48 hours for your carrier to release the lock.

Can I use my hotspot or tablet when I am traveling internationally?

Gen Mobile does not have international roaming for data plans at this time. Your hotspot or tablet's data service will not work outside of the U.S.
